Turtle friendly wavelength luminaires
Turtle-friendly lighting is designed to minimize the impact of artificial light on sea turtles and other coastal wildlife. Using specific amber or red wavelengths—typically in the 590–620 nanometer range—these lights are less disruptive to turtle hatchlings, which rely on natural moonlight to navigate toward the ocean. By reducing short-wavelength blue and white light, turtle-friendly luminaires support conservation efforts while still providing effective illumination for human safety and visibility in coastal environments.
